A Pair of George III Rococo Giltwood Open Armchairs, Circa 1765
with castors; rails not examined under upholstery

Condition Report:
Structurally sound and ready to use. With scattered chips, small losses to carving and gilt surfaces revealing gesso, bole and bare wood in areas as to be expected with age. With signs of old restorations and repairs commensurate with age and use. Proper left back foot of one chair with repaired break. Underside of front and side seat rails with an additional giltwood moulded edge attached with screws, some possibly original and others probably replaced. Wooden castors associated. One chair with the numbers 3352 written on the inside of the back seat rail. The red upholstery in good condition and appearance with light general wear.
