A Pair of Italian Walnut Side Cabinets
late 18th/early 19th century
each having a rectangular white marble top above the plain frieze fitted with a single drawer, set on faceted columnar supports above the case fitted with a door opening to a vacant interior, flanked by faceted pilasters terminating in conforming fore-feet.
Height 36 x width 18 1/4 x depth 12 1/2 inches.
One cabinet recently damged during shipping; numerous pieces of trim from around its base were detached, and 2 of the columnar supports were broken across various joints. Professionally restored recently. Light surface wear consistent with age; a few minor age cracks, small veneer chips and veneer repairs; marble with some faint discolorations and rough edges.
