A Pair of Louis XV Style Giltwood Fauteuils

each having a shaped crest rail carved to show C-scrolls, rocaille and foliate decoration above the padded back, arms and stuffover seat, raised on similarly carved cabriole legs.
Height 43 1/8 inches.

Sturdy, usable condition. Professionally re-gilt at some point; gilt is mostly rubbed off on one of the hand holds. Minor chips, gilt loss with exposed gesso, age cracks and scuffs consistent with age. Upholstery intact and mostly clean. Width of chair 29 1/2 inches; depth 29 inches.
