A Pair of Louis XVI Faux Mable-Painted Oak Pedestals, Late 18th Century

Condition Report:
Structurally sound, very sturdy, and ready to use. Each pedestal has only two sides that are faux marble painted (one on the front and proper left side, the other on the front and proper right side) indicating placement in corners or against walls, and not original to pedestals. Both with the expected general overall marks, nicks, small losses, surface scratches, and repairs consistent with age and use. Scattered minor chips, rubbing, fading and slaking to painted surface decoration. One interior frame with worm damage to sapwood portions of front rails, the rest of the carcase is oak. Each has various patch repairs, one with a plugged hole to front below top, and also with an old replacement to top panel, all of which is typical and indicate various alterations through time to adapt to changing uses.
