A Persian hand-knotted wool rug, circa 1920–1930. The dense wool pile is arranged with an allover floral palmette and foliate vine design set against a rich crimson ground. Stylized flowering urns, rosettes, and scrolling palmettes in tones of navy blue, soft teal, beige, and terracotta decorate the field, enclosed by a primary dark ground border of alternating blossoms flanked by multiple minor guard stripes. The reverse exhibits a compact weave structure with an affixed collector inventory tag, terminating in short fringed ends.Length 58 inches, Width 30 inches
Condition
General age-appropriate wear with areas of low pile throughout the field and borders. Fringes are trimmed and frayed. Selvedges show minor wear and thread loosening. Structurally intact and pliable.
