A QUEEN ANNE WALNUT AND FEATHERBANDED KNEEHOLE DESKCIRCA 1710The hinged top opening in conjunction with a fall front to the frieze drawer, panelled to simulate three drawers and enclosing an arrangement of small drawers and pigeonholes with a velvet writing surface, the kneehole with twin recessed doors surrounded by an arrangement of seven drawers, on turned feet, the cross-banded sides with a pair of brass handles 80.5cm high, 76cm wide, 49cm deep Provenance: Moss Green Auctions, South Yarra, Australia 30 August 2010, Lot 247Bonhams The Collection of Giles Newby Vincent, The Old Rectory, Wickhambreux, Kent. Fine English Furniture, Bonhams 12 March 2014, Lot 9. A similar example is recorded in the King's Room, Traquair, Scotland.Condition Report: There are marks, stains, scratches, knocks and chips consistent with age and use.The front section of the hinged top is slightly paler in colour than the back section.There are some losses and restorations, the feet possibly later.The escutcheons and handles are later.One side of the stained backboards not firmly attached.Please see the additional photographs as a visual reference of condition.
