A QUR’AN, COPIED BY MUHAMMAD IBN ‘ABD AL-QADIR B. IBRAHIM B. AHMAD B. AL-HASANI, NORTH AFRICA, DATED 1197 AH/1783 AD

Arabic manuscript on European watermarked paper, 269 leaves plus 6 fly-leaves, 19 lines to the page, written in Maghribi script in brown ink, red vocalisation with blue and yellow reading marks, ruled in red or yellow, verses separated by red dots, surah headings in bolder script, mainly in red, within cartouches, verse markers in the margins, f.1b and 2a with a polychrome frame, in brown leather stamped binding

20.1 by 14.5cm.

Condition Report:
In good condition, the margins are clean with minor smudges and stains, the ink colour changes through the manuscript and a section has suffered from occasional corrosion, but the text is clean and legible, minor retouching occasionally to the surah headings, minor traces of molds and restoration, the binding with minor scratches, later restored, as viewed.
