A Queen Anne Britannia silver coffee pot, London, 1711, probably Gabriel Sleath, the tapering cylindrical body raised on a spreading reeded foot and designed with turned wooden side handle to domed cover with knopped finial, the body engraved with a coat-of-arms, hinged cover to spout, 25cm high, approx. weight 26.9oz Provenance: Works of Art from the Schroder Collection.
Please refer to department for condition report The coffee pot is in good overall condition commensurate with age. However, there is general surface scratching, minor pitting, nicking and several repairs/patches noted. There has been a repair to the lid beneath the finial (erasing stepped decoration here). Repairs to hinge, handle joins and spout join. Splitting to silver bracket connecting handle and body. Some abrasion, pitting and wear to handle (polished surface worn away in places). Ding to foot. Engraving likely c.1717 (see P. Waldron, pg. 240)
