A Queen Anne oak dresser base, circa 1710, the rectangular top above three crossbanded frieze drawers, on turned legs headed by pierced scroll brackets, 85cm high, 231cm wide, 48cm

Provenance: Purchased from Huntingdon Antiques, Stow on the Wold, in 1992

Condition Report:
Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and use Some old chips and splits comensurate with age. Some small losses. Some old worm damage (none immediately weakens the structure of elements) Some discoloration to the top due to old cleaning/ fluid (see images) Some additional old dark/ ink stains to the top also. The current handles, escutcheons and locks are replacements. Upon closer inspection, some holes and marks from previous/ original handles are present. The lock to the left hand drawer is lacking. The legs are all original and have not been spliced. The rear panel is original. The drawer lining are original and bear some splits and division between elements (see images) . The pierced corner brackets surmounting the legs appear original. The bracket to the leg on the right has been repaired. One of the stretchers to the underside of the drawer section (running front to back behind the central leg) has been later replaced. There are a small number of other later timber brackets/ blocks to the under side and interior of carcass to support and/ or aid the running of the drawers. Please refer to the additional images for visual reference to condition.
