A Queen Anne walnut and beech stool, circa 1710, the circular padded top, above turned baluster legs joined by an X-shaped stretcher centred by a turned terminal, on moulded shaped feet, 44cm high, the top 35cm diameter Condition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and use.Old chips and splits.Very good colour, patina and original surface overall. All feet are original. some old worm damageSeat requires re-upholstering. A circular beech stretcher has been glued to the top side of the original stretchers in order to strengthen the original stretcher and secure old breaks to the original seat rail. One or two original joining pegs lost (or part thereof) one loss disguised by wax filler. An old later peg joint introduced to the exterior of one leg and well disguised. joints may require simple tightening, particularly for common use.
