A Qur'an section, North Africa, 13th century, Qur'an LIV, sura al-qamar, middle of v.17 to. Qur'an XCII, sura al-layl, v.11, Arabic manuscript on vellum, 88ff. each with 9ll. of sepia maghribi, diacritics in red and blue, gold trefoil verse markers, gold drop-shapes between every fifty verses and roundels between every ten, thirty-eight sura headings in gold kufic, in brown morocco with flap decorated with stamped medallion and borders, later plain brown morocco doublures, some staining, folios trimmed, misbound, folio 15.9 x 15.9cm.
