single volume, 21 leaves complete, containing Hisb 55 of the Quran, being Al-Mujadilah (85:1)-As-Saf (61:14), single column, 6 lines of striking black thuluth per page, opening of first surah with elaborate polychrome borders surrounding text, surah headings in decorative banners framed in gilt with cartouches on either side of the text, ornamental arabesque devices marking the verses throughout, all in red, blue and black with highlights in gilt, fine and excellent condition, 240 by 160 mm.; contemporary burgundy morocco, covers stamped in blind with Mamluk-style central circular medallions, ruled in blind with additional gilt ruling to outer edges of covers, small dent to lower cover, else excellent condition

A fine calligraphic masterpiece, signed by scribe Mullah Mahmoud ad-Din al-Dimashqi, who was a student of Ahmad al-Qhahra Khazari al-Kermani.
