A rare and fine pair of snaphaunce flintlock pistols

dating: first quarter of the 18th Century provenance: Tuscany, Long, smooth-bore, four-stage, 12 mm cal. barrels, the base with silver medallion with a face, a sixteen-facets segment after the octagonal second part with geometrical engravings, and round after the rings; engraved tangs; beautiful, iron locks, plate's tail with a high-relieved mask, engraved with a flower in the center, engraved cock, chiselled with floral motifs, the screw closed with a mask, pan with a mask and sliding pan cover with a lion's head, batterie with a figure, the screw with a mask. Wooden, full stocks, with iron mounts, richly engraved and chiselled with allegorical figures, busts and floral motifs. Iron-tipped wooden ramrods. length 50.5 cm.
