A RARE BLUE AND WHITE 'HUNTING SCENE' BOTTLE VASE
KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1662-1722)
The globular body is finely decorated in vibrant tones of cobalt blue with a continuous hunting scene, depicting a group of seven female equestrians hunting rabbits. The tall neck is encircled by a central band of roundels containing ladies reserved on a ground of fretwork diaper between a landscape band below and a band of ladies standing on either side of jardinières in a garden setting above.
