The grips of polished horn, with bolster of nielloed silver set with three bands of inlaid corals, exceptional for the type. The straight, blade with profiled back edge forged of wootz damascus steel. The leather-covered wooden scabbard with large, engraved and enameled mounts retaining much parcel-gilding (working life replacements dated 1341 a.h. [1922/3 c.e. a.h.]), and its embroidered, hide-tasseled suspension loop. Mid-19th century. Light wear. Overall length 34.8cm. Condition II
