A RARE FLAMBE MEIPING, QING
China, 1644-1912. The heavily potted vase rising from a slightly splayed foot to a high-shouldered body below a short, waisted neck, covered overall in a rich purplish-red glaze with lavender streaks thinning to mushroom around the mouth.

Condition: Very good condition with some firing flaws, one particularly at the neck, the glaze with some fritting around the foot rim as common for this type of wares. Some wear.

The recessed base with a brown glaze and a broad, unglazed foot rim. Intentional crackling to inside of neck.
