A RARE GREAT NORTHERN SNOW TRAIN PORCELAIN ENAMEL SIGN

The very rare six-color porcelain enamel sign for the Great Northern.The Minnesota Historical Society holds an identical example in their collection with the following history: 'Great Northern Railway 'Snow Train' sign...used on St. Paul Winter Carnival parade floats, Great Northern Railway, St. Paul, Minnesota, circa 1937-1942. Earliest Winter Carnival ... held after adoption of that logo was in 1937. Latest carnival held before 1946 logo change was in 1942. Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States Used during: Saint Paul Winter Carnival.'

This sign first came to the market from an employee of The Great Northern in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Images of an original Great Northern promotion have been added.
