A RARE GROUP OF 10 SOVIET COMMANDER SIGNED DOCUMENTS, 1939-1987
A rare collection of documents signed by various high ranking Soviet military leaders. Below is a list of the many signatories. For more information on the nature of the documents themselves please inquire with us directly.
Document 1: A 1938 document signed by Lev Mekhlis, a very important politician, military officer, and close confidant of Stalin.
Document 2: A 1959 document signed by Sergey Varentsov, the Chief Marshal of Artillery and 'Hero of the Soviet Union'. He was later stripped of his rank and title when his personal liaison officer, Colonel Oleg Penkovsky, was determined to be an American spy.
Document 3: A 1942 document signed by Vladimir Sudets, the Marshal of Aviation.
Document 4: A 1962 document signed by Fyodor Dobysh, a Colonel General, Commander of the 50th Rocket Army, and co-founder of the Strategic Missile Forces.
Document 5: A 1948 document signed by Filipp Agaltsov, a Marshal of Aviation and 'Hero of the Soviet Union'. Also signed by Lieutenant General of the Air Forces Peter Kuchm.
Document 6: A 1944 document signed by Alexander Belyakov, one of the earliest recipients of the 'Hero of the Soviet Union' award. He was a flight navigator who, in 1936, set the record for the longest uninterrupted flight, and made the first non-stop flight across the North Pole, from Moscow to Vancouver.
Document 7: A 1952 document signed by Michael Katukov, the Marshal of Armored Troops and two time recipient of the 'Hero of the Soviet Union' award.
Document 8: A 1950 document signed by Kirill Moskalenko, the Marshal of the USSR and later Commander in Chief of Strategic Missile Forces.
Document 9: A 1987 document signed by Konstantin Kobets, an Army General who served until the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Document 10: No important signature on this document though it is important nonetheless. It is the recommendation for Captain Anatoli Yonov to be awarded the title 'Hero of the Soviet Union', who, as a result of this document, was awarded the title on the 29th of June, 1945.
