Japan, Edo period (1615-1868)
This miniature archery set, designed for indoor use, comprising a three-part wooden bow with copper fittings and a wood-fabric grip, along with five short arrows, all in a two-compartment wood storage box. A fine amusement set from Edo period nobility.
LENGTH 28.2 cm (each arrow) and 33 cm (the box)
Condition: Very good condition with only minor surface wear, the storage box with small nicks here and there.
Provenance: Hungarian private collection.
