Ottoman war hammer (kulunk), 17th century, Damascus steel, silver. The head finely-wrought of actively-grained pattern-welded damascus steel of characteristic form with flaring hammer and curved, profiled spike with central fuller. The wooden haft covered in worn velvet, the mounts of silver with beaded borders. Provenance Auctions Imperial Inc, March 15, 2014, lot 550.
