A rare pair of flintlock Wender pistols by Giovanni
dating: Second half of the 18th Century provenance: Florence, Smooth-bore, two-stage, 13 mm cal. barrels, first part is octagonal, then round and provided with fore-sight; two-part lock with plates signed 'Giov. Sofiantini' and 'a Firenze' and engraved with floral motifs, pan's parts and batterie decorated en suite. Two-piece, full stocks with brass mounts decorated with busts and floral motifs, engraved and in bass-relief, counter-plates pierced with grotesque faces and floral motifs, short, iron belt hooks, spring trigger guards for barrels' revolving. Lateral, horn-tipped, wooden ramrods and iron cartridge extractors. length 44 cm.
