A RARE PHILIPPINES DAGGER
The finely carved octagonal horn grip terminating in a monster head characteristic of Batangas, very rarely encountered in this size, possibly unique. With brass ferule and guard, the blade of complex form, with bellied edge and clipped tip. In its later leather sheath inscribed VICTORY, with applied brass tip. Dagger likely first half of the 20th century, sheath c. 1945. Minor wear. Overall length 36.5 cm / 14 1/2". Condition II
