A rare Triplett & Scott Repeating Carbine
dating: Third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: USA, Rifled, round, 30', cal. 50 rimfire barrel. Fore-sight and foldaway rear sight. Frame with Meriden manufacture mark and 'KENTUCKY'. Triplett & Scott 1864 patent mark on the upper tang. Tubular magazine inside the butt. Smooth, wooden butt and fore-end. Particular loading mechanism that starts by rotating the front section of the frame on the central pivot; such movement allows to extract the empty cartridge case and automatically insert a new cartridge from the butt's magazine. length 116,5 cm.
