A RITUAL BRONZE WINE VASE AND COVER, HU
China, late Eastern Zhou dynasty
The oval body resting on a high circular base, to the shoulders two masks of fantastic animals with a movable ring between the jaws, the domed cover with three small handles, the decoration consisting on the body of three large horizontal parallel bands, the lower and upper ones with a stylized geometric motif, the one to the center with pairs of dragons facing each other, pairs of fantastic birds also on the neck, the lid with a similar stylized geometric decoration.
