A Cross Pattée with red enameled arms and swords between them. A centerpiece with a hand-painted miniatures of St. Anne, the reverse center shows blue hand-painted initials "A.I.P.F." (Anna Imperatoris Petri Filia). With a maker's mark underneath the enamel on the reverse.
The Imperial Order of St. Anne is an order established in 1735 as a dynastic award of the Duchy of Holstein-Gottorp, and introduced on April 5, 1797 by the decree of Emperor Paul I in the award system of the Russian Empire to distinguish clergymen, military, civil and court ranks, as well as foreigners. The order of Saint Anne had 4 degrees.
