A RUSSIAN SILVER & ENAMEL ICON TRIPTYCH OVCHINNIKOV. Comprising a silver and cloisonné enamel icon triptych. The central ogee arched panel painted with an image of Christ holding an open book of Gospels to John 13:34, "A New Commandment I give unto you, that ye also love one another." The right hinged wing painted with an image of Saint Alexander Nevsky and the left wing with a female saint. Each panel framed in cloisonné enamel of scrolling foliage, geometric designs and turquoise beading. The verso of each wing similarly enameled and the verso of central panel with integral folding suspension loop. Hallmarked Moscow, dated 1887 and Cyrillic maker mark OVCHINNIKOV beneath the Imperial Warrant, and 84 silver standard. 3.5 inches x 6.1 inches (3.5 x 9 cm) open.
