A Rare Baroque Tabernacle
Austria, c. 1760/70, ‘à trois corps’, exquisitely walnut veneered softwood frame with rare serpentine side, marquetried in panels and bands with additional precious woods including poplar, maplewood and plumwood, the lower section with curved front and 4 drawers, writing compartment with fall-front writing surface and 2 external drawers, the upper part with 8 drawers and 1 door, c. 185 x 115 x 67 cm, a few small wood parts missing, the surface recently re-worked, with slight signs of age and use.
