A Rare Diminutive Pennsylvania Striped Stoneware Butter Tub
Western Pennsylvania, 19th Century
a fine small two quart butter crock, unmarked, with tooled rim, the body decorated with an unusual pattern of vertical cobalt squiggles bordered by short flourishes on the sides and a cobalt slash at top and bottom.
Height 5 1/4 x diameter of opening 6 1/4 inches.
Condition Report: Crock appears to have been broken in two pieces and repaired.
