possibly with some early-19th century elements, the convex mirror plate within an ebonised slip, the frame with foliate and ball friezes and flanked with scrolling candle arms with cut-glass drip pans and drops, the foliate frieze with centred with a ribbon and an ebonised shell, the crest formed of an ebonised eagle on a rockwork and lion-mask base, flanked by two foliate scrolls containing ebonised sunflowers

approx. 170cm high

Condition Report:
A spectacular example. The giltwood frame with several splits to the gesso, and the ebonised slip also with splits. The gilding with rubbing, revealing underlying bole and gesso. The mirror plate in good condition with little by way of scratches. The glass in very good condition with only light nicks and scratches.
