A ‘Robin’s Egg’ Glazed Jar

The ovoid body applied and covered inside and out with an opaque, mottled glaze of dark blue and turquoise color, with a more finely mottled glaze on the base, together with a ‘Robin’s Egg’ glazed bottle vase, and another. Period: 19th/20th century. Height: 12 - 17 cm.

Wladimir Simon Semcesen (1906‑1969) born in Austria Hungary, settled in Oslo, Norway in 1936. In the 1950’s and 1960’s before the Cultural Revolution in China, he acquired works of art in China that he brought back to Europe.
