A Roman blue-green glass unguentarium

A Roman blue-green glass unguentarium, c. 2nd - 3rd Century AD, of heavy construction, the short piriform body with slightly indented base, the tall tubular neck tapering beneath the widely flared mouth with inward folding rim. H: 2 1/4 in (5.7 cm). A combination of heavy ploughing type corrosion, iridescence formation, and encrustation gives this vessel a wonderfully unique appearance, as though it was seemingly textured and etched to create this look.
