A Roman carved softwood console table
An important monumental Baroque console table. The marble-veneered stone top resting on four serpentine legs with pad-feet, decorated to the knees with female busts. The x-form stretcher centered by the head of a satyr. The curved openwork apron with a mascaron to the front. Older insect damage, cracks, losses to the wood and to the marble veneer. H 100, W ca. 220, D 86 cm.
