A Roman provincial bronze figure of a man, c. 1st - 3rd Century AD, wearing a long robe, arms and the base distorted due to casting flaws. An interesting piece that was probably unfinished due to the casting flaws and found in a cache of items waiting to be re-melted and reused. H: 3 3/4 in (9.5cm). Ex estate of Seward Kennedy, New York. Mr. Kennedy worked for decades as a lawyer for the Mobil Corporation, and acquired his collection throughout decades of travel beginning in the 1950's.
