A Roman terracotta bust of Minerva, Egypt

A Roman terracotta bust of Minerva, Egypt, 1st - 2nd Century AD, atop a ridged base and wearing a helmet and aegis, her features nicely detailed with hair in curls framing her face. The bust is topped by a loop and the back with large square cut-out to vent the piece during firing in the kiln. H: 5 in (12.8 cm). Well-preserved with light deposits and mounted on a nice antique wood base. Ex Manhattan, NY private collection.
