A Rosewood Two Day Marine Chronometer, signed T.J.Williams, 2 Bute Docks, Cardiff, No.1765, circa 1860, three tier brass bound case with side carrying handles, lid with a vacant brass plaque, front with an ivory plaque signed and numbered, 4-inch silvered dial with Roman numerals, two dials for seconds and 56 hour power reserve display, dial signed and numbered, single fusee movement with a detent escapement, maintaining power, free sprung blue helical hairspring, bimetallic balance with timing screws and weights, diamond endstone, contained in a brass gimbal, 19cm high, sold with a book titled "The Marine Chronometer" by Rupert Gould see illustrations

01.10.20 Case slightly faded in parts, lid with some cracks, lid with the front two brass corners are slightly separating from the case, case with rub marks in places, front plaque with cracks, brass mounts are discoloured, dial is discoloured, movement in going order.
