the white enameled dial signed Helye l'aîné Inventit & fecit, the 8-day circular movement with gilded plates signed Jean Baptiste Helye à Paris No.837; fusee and chain; cylinder escapement and repeating the hours and quarters on a large bell, the backplate engraved with a crown incorporating the regulation scale and mounted with a pierced and engraved balance bridge in the form of a monogram of crossed L's; the foliate pierced reverse forming a further crossed L monogram and inscribed Donnée par le Roi au Cte. de Rochefort en 1790 à Paris
