A Royal Vienna porcelain cup "Cephise clipping Cupid's wings"
The cup finely painted with a mythological scene in an oval reserve. Blue bindenschild mark, 137 in gold, year stamp 816, pressnummers 36 and 27, incised marks. Minor wear to the glaze of the saucer. H cup 9.5, D saucer 16 cm.

Angelika Kaufmann's painting was created in Naples in 1782 for her patron, George Bowles Esq. Today it hangs in the Gemäldegalerie Berlin SPK. The version on this Royal Vienna cup differs only in the colouring of the robes, which indicates that the painter used an uncoloured or incorrectly coloured print after the painting as a model.
