With bright slightly curved fullered blade double-edged at the point, the forte on one side etched with crowned cypher of Nicholas II, on the other with an Imperial eagle, and along the back with 'Zlatoust' in Russian, regulation hilt with beaked brass pommel pierced for a sword-knot and cast with crowned cypher between laurel against a punched ground at the back, and ribbed ebonised grip, in original wood-lined leather-covered brass-mounted scabbard with suspension ring
