A SATSUMA 'BUTTERFLIES' BOWL AND A SATSUMA LANDSCAPE DISH
Meiji period, 19th century
The bowl decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt with dense depiction of butterflies, dragonflies and other insects amongst flowering bushes; the dish depicting an agricultural scene at the slope of Mount Fuji, both signed to the base.
The dish: 20.6cm (8 1/8in) diam. (2).
