of baluster outline, the enamel dial within a painted scene of Venus at the forge of Vulcan, the finial cast as a winged putto holding a rose garland, the reverse painted with Venus rising from the waves, flanked by putti and seahorses, supported by four cast figures with feathered head adornments on a rectangular base, the sides enamelled with different scenes in front of classical landscapes, each side applied with a lion's head holding a ring, resting on lion paw feet, apparently unmarked
