A SMALL JADE WRIST REST AND THREE JADE CARVINGS, 18TH-19TH CENTURY

The first small white jade scroll-form wrist rest is carved with a qilin issuing a cloud containing a book. The second greenish-white jade is carved as a bitter melons group. The third white jade is carved as a lotus root, the stone with some russet markings to one side. The fourth white jade toggle is carved as a seated figure wearing a clock and a hat, the stone with some opaque and russet markings and veins.
First: 2 1/4 in. (5.7 cm.) wide
Second: 2 5/8 in. (6.7 cm.) long
Third: 2 1/4 in. (5.7 cm.) wide
Fourth: 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) high

CONDITION REPORT:
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First:
-There are two polished knowcks to the edges.
-"59.19.269" has been inscribed in black ink on the underside.

Second:
-There are some short cracks with associated bruises.
-There is recarving to the stem.
-There is a stained short crack to the leaf.
-There are a few polished chips to the edges.
-"59.19.261" has been inscribed in black ink on the leaf.

Third:
-There is possible recarving to the lotus stem.
-"59.19.278" has been inscribed in black ink on the base

Fourth:
-There are two perforated holes to the back.
-There are a few short cracks to the back, one of which has been polished.
