A SMALL POLYCHROME-PAINTED ENAMELLED GOLD LID Qajar Iran, early 19th century Of circular shape, with a small rounded knob at the top, the gold sheet painted in vivid polychrome enamels, the decoration featuring the recurrent Qajar topos of gol-o-bolbol (the rose and the nightingale) with two pairs of birds perched amidst a lush bouquet of roses, narcissi and iris flowers, the interior enamelled in turquoise green, 4.5cm diam.
