A SMALL WHITE JADE 'ELEPHANT' RHYTON
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The lower section of the rhyton is cleverly carved in the form of an elephant head, with its tusks and trunk acting as supports. The upper section is carved with a band of archaistic 'C'-scrolls, beside a handle in the form of a stylised dragon. The stone is of an even white tone.
