A SOVIET PORCELAIN FIGURINE CHINESE GIRL WITH FAN

A Russian Leningrad Porcelain Factory (LFZ) figurine depicting a Chinese girl with a fan 1950's/60's made by Galina Sergeyevna Stolbova (1908–1996), a Soviet sculptor. Galina Sergeyevna was born in 1908 in Glazov, Vyatka province. She entered and graduated from the Art Institute of Industrial Art in Vyatsk (1925) and left for St. Petersburg. In 1937, she graduated from the Leningrad Academy of Arts named after I. Repin and continued to work as an artist-sculptor. She worked at the Leningrad Faculty since 1949. Her teachers were Stolbova A. I. Stolbov, A. T. Matveev and V. A. Sinaisky.
One of the main themes in the work of Galina Sergeevna is a happy Soviet childhood.
