(A) SPANISH .75 SMOOTHBORE MIQUELET LOCK PATILLA

Classic configuration of the Spanish Patilla lock with half and full cock positions. Massive .75 caliber smooth bore. No maker's marks observed on lock or barrel. Brass sideplate has "34" stamped internally, meaning unknown. Lock mortise rather crudely worked. CONDITION: Good. Metal has acquired a nice chocolate patina throughout, brass with some verdigris. Stock had a significant split at left side running from rear of barrel down to trigger guard before coming back up on right side to barrel that was repaired with old wood glue and now appears stable. Other normal handling marks throughout, wood has likely had an extra layer of varnish added when repair performed. Action works appropriately when operated by hand, bore is very good, smooth, with a minimum of oxidation.
