Made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1885. Standard 22" round blued barrel with two-line Winchester address and "CAL 45-75" marking at breech. Barrel is fitted with a standard 42A rear sporting sight and carbine blade front sight. Blued standard frame with saddle ring blued loading gate and serrated dust cover with integral guide rail. Action has plain trigger, case hardened lever and hammer, "Model 1876" marked tang, "45-75" marked brass elevator, and full-length blued magazine tube. Factory special order plain walnut stocks with special order blued crescent steel buttplate with trap door; no cleaning rod. Comes with Cody Research confirming configuration and manufacturing date. CONDITION: One of the finest third model carbines in existence with 98%+ barrel blue with light handling marks. 98%+ vivid action blue and lever case colors fading to an aged appearance. 98% stock finish with light bumps and bruises (most from saddle ring movement). Excellent bore and mechanics. A must for the high condition collector.
