A SPECTACULAR RUSSIAN INKWELL, KUZMICHEV, MOSCOW C. 1891. Comprising a large and impressive silver gilt and cloisonné enamel and cut glass inkwell on stand. The imposing inkwell made of cut glass in a swirling pattern with a silver gilt mount cast and chased in imitation of a swirling onion dome, the exterior enameled with stylized Greek Byzantine ornament in shades of turquoise, navy, white, and strawberry raid, set on a tray raised four ball feet and similarly decorated. Engraved with the initials MTT. Hallmarked Moscow circa 1891, Cyrillic maker's mark AK for Antip Kuzmichev and with 88 silver standard. Height of inkwell: 4.25 inches (10.8 cm). Dimensions of tray: 7.25 inches square.
