The ewer, of rounded ovoid form, has a short diagonal spout, a pair of loop handles, and a double-strap handle rising to just below the everted rim, and is covered inside and out with a glaze of black color decorated with phosphatic splashes of milky pale blue and buff tone.
11 1/4 in. (28.6 cm.) high, cloth box
CONDITION REPORT:
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- There appear to be some areas of restoration, mostly to the upper body, possibly the handles and the spout.
- There are a few glaze gaps and glaze burst bubbles.
- The glazed areas appear to have been covered in a clear coating.
- It appears that the two tab feet have been added to stabilize the vessel.
