The 15-inch specimen of Speetoniceras sp. from the Jurassic (200-145 million years ago) split and polished to reveal internal chambers, some naturally filled with a rich orange calcite.
Each half 15 x 13½ x 2in. (38 x 34 x 5cm.)
CONDITION REPORT:
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In excellent condition and not composites as often seen. The reverse with some infill to central chambers, the whole stabilised.
