Nice honest Springfield Trapdoor carbine with the 1879 improvements. 22 inch barrel with 1879 "C" marked rear sight and post front sight with blade. "SWP 1881" cartouche on left wrist to rear of saddle bar and ring. Trap butt with 3 piece cleaning rod and extractor in butt. Front band equipped with stacking swivel. Low arch breech block with 1873 date and 3 position tumbler. CONDITION: Very good with an even mellow brown patina. Stock is full sized with typical oil staining and small bruises and scratches.
